Ham Radio

A relatively recent addition to my hobbies, I got started in ham radio by picking up the RTL-SDR software-defined radio and listening to the local traffic. When I realized there were at least a few repeaters in the area, I decided to start studying up. I used HamStudy to get ready and took my test on October 16th, 2022. I was three questions away from making it all the way to my General license on my first try!

I've made a few contacts, though I live pretty far from the local repeaters. I try to hop on the air with my FT70D whenever I'm on the road!
